Dr. Michael Mina, assistant professor of epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, was among the National Institutes of Health (NIH) director’s Early Independence Award Recipients. His laboratory combines extremely high-throughput serological methods with mathematical and epidemiological modeling to understand dynamics underlying infectious diseases transmission, how immunity develops and persists through life, and how to improve epidemic and outbreak surveillance.
