At ASPPH, we are committed to finding the best possible candidates to support our work in advancing academic public health. With our dedication to ASPPH’s mission and values, we are able to attract talent from a diverse pool of applicants, allowing us to embrace the tenets of gender, racial, ethnic, and geographical representation in the workplace. We are excited to welcome two new staff members recently to our organization.

  • Vivian Lasley-Bibbs, MPH – Vivian will serve as Director of Disease Intervention Initiatives for CDC-funded projects through the ASPPH Center for Public Health Workforce Development. Prior to joining ASPPH, Vivian served as Director of Health Equity at the Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH). With over 30 years of leadership, she conducted racial and health equity trainings, developed curricula, and led data modernization. During the pandemic, she worked on vaccine distribution and engaged marginalized communities. Vivian’s expertise extends to mentoring students and contributing to various boards, focusing on closing disparity gaps through a health equity lens.
  • Sara McDowell, MPH, CPH – Sara will serve as Manager of Disease Intervention Initiatives for CDC-funded projects through the ASPPH Center for Public Health Workforce Development. Before joining ASPPH, Sara worked as a Quality Improvement Specialist for a large family practice group in North Florida, gaining experience in population health management and program planning. She co-founded the University of North Florida’s Public Health Alumni Network, aiming to foster networking and professional development. Sara is committed to enhancing public health through robust program development and continuous education for the workforce. She holds a Master of Public Health, Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management, and is board-certified in public health.
