The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) administers the internationally recognized Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) programs. The ABIH Board elected three new board members during its September meeting. The three new members of the 2019 – 2022 Board include:
- Kari Brisolara, ScD, MSPH, QEP is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at the LSU Health Sciences Center, School of Public Health in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Brisolara is an environmental health scientist specializing in waste treatment and reuse. She has over 10 years of academic public health experience including publishing over 20 refereed articles and delivering over 100 talks on waste treatment, reuse, disinfection and environmental public health at conferences both U.S. based and international. In addition to research and continuing education programs, she has also participated in community-based projects related to migrant worker health in Georgia, the development of congressional position statements on aspects of the Farm Bill and EPA’s Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation Rule, and is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer.
