2018 HSRProj Research Competition for Students Identifying Research Gaps in HSR

AcademyHealth and the National Information Center for Health Services Research and Health Care Technology (NICHSR) of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) are hosting the second annual HSRProj Research Competition for undergraduate and graduate students. This competition invites students to use data from the Health Services Research Projects in Progress (HSRProj) database in conjunction with other sources to identify research gaps in health services and systems research.

Goals of the Student Research Competition

The 2018 HSRProj Student Research Competition will examine the current scope of health services and systems research that investigates topics in population health and social determinants of health.

Using the HSRProj database as a starting point, augmented by other data sources of their own choosing, students will analyze and identify a significant research gap in the field of HSR (or an under-represented topic in HSRProj). The work must be original and illustrated by data visualizations that express the students’ findings.

To be considered for this competition, students must submit all application materials to by March 23 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
